Description

Photographs from a Kansas "Prairie Burn" showing the annual burning of the fields and cowboys working the fire. This was taken in the Flint Hills, a beautiful section of Kansas. They burn the fields to keep down cedar trees and unwanted brush. What results (in a couple of weeks) is beautiful green grasses where the cattle graze.
