I recently attended a prairie fire burn. In Kansas, ranchers burn the fields to eliminate the weeds and prepare the soil for new grasses. A few weeks after a burn, the fields will be bright grass green. It was an amazing experience watching the cowboys starting and controlling the fires. Here the cowboy drags the burning car tire to start the fire.
Crystal is a Kansas City area photographer. She has been taking photographs since she got her first Instamatic camera. She also has attended numerous photography classes, seminars and workshops given by local and nationally known photographers. Crystal likes to shoot many different subjects. She feels that photographs are very personal and keeps variety in her work to appeal to a wider audience.
